Four Clay County High School Football teams have qualified for the state
playoffs. Fleming Island, Orange Park
and Clay High all won district championships.
The Ridgeview High Panthers also qualified as runner-ups after defeating
the Lee Generals in Jacksonville.
The Oakleaf Junior High Yellow Jackets completed their football season
with an 8-0 record.
The Fleming Island Girls Swim Team won their first District Swimming and
Diving Championship this year. The FIHS Boys came in second in their
division.
The Oakleaf High Swim Team, in its inaugural year, had a strong showing
in all of the dual meets and at the District Championship. “We were very
excited and proud to be the first team in Knight’s history to advance beyond
the District Championships to Regionals, taking 7 swimmers to compete in
Tallahassee on November 4th,” says OHS Swim Coach Kate Swartz. The team would like to thank the Oakleaf
Plantation management, the CDD Board, Oakleaf Chiropractic, Priamerica and
Chick-Fil-A for their support.
The Green Cove Springs Junior High Girls’ Flag Football team won this
year’s County Championship.
The Academic Team at Oakleaf Junior High School won this year’s County
Championship. The team was undefeated!
The Orange Park High School Academy of Health Science and the Health
Occupations Students of America sponsored a blood drive that set a new blood
donation record for the school. Out of
117 students who registered at the blood mobile, a total of 105 units were good
enough to use for those in need of blood.
