Governor Crist Stops at LaVilla School of the Arts

Florida Governor Charlie Crist visited LaVilla School of the Arts to talk to students about the importance of education. While visiting with the middle schoolers, Governor Crist also had the opportunity to conduct the orchestra, play the piano and participate in a creative writing class.

“Education is the key to success in life,” said Crist. “You are very fortunate to attend a school that has dedicated teachers, as well as a wonderful blend of strong academics and the creative, visual and performing arts.”

Leading Governor Crist on the tour of the school were Principal Janelle Wagoner, DCPS’ Deputy Superintendent Patricia Willis and Larry Roziers, Executive Director for the Secondary Cluster.
