Creekside High School will be holding a general assembly on November 23rd for sophomore, junior, and senior classes regarding the safety and impact of Facebook and other social network sites. In order for students to be able to participate in this assembly, a signed permission slip from a parent/guardian is required. The Guidance Department will be discussing this topic in freshman English classes. Students will have to have a signed permission form as well to participate in this event.

Nease High School has been celebrating veterans in several different ways:

Freshman students, through their English classes, wrote and created holiday cards to send to veterans in the VA Hospital during the holidays.

Sophomore students, through their social studies classes, recognized family members who are/were in the military through pictures and stories which were posted in the cafeteria. Junior students attended an assembly where Ms. Amy Vasquez, mother of Corporal Joshua Watkins, spoke to students about our responsibility to veterans and about Joshua's time at Nease High School. Corporal Watkins was a graduate of Nease and was killed in action in Iraq.

Senior students, through their English classes, read an article from Newsweek, which included letters from soldiers who were killed in action and their stories. Once they read the article, the seniors wrote letters to soldiers in the field.
