On behalf of the School Board and staff, I want to wish each and every one of you a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving always reinforces the gratitude I feel at being able to serve with so many caring and unselfish individuals. It is a blessing to have the opportunity to work for an institution whose sole purpose is service to children, and every day I am reminded of some act of kindness by a teacher or member of our support staff.

Another reason I am thankful is to have the opportunity to work in such a great school district. I never take for granted the outstanding parents, teachers, staff, school board members and students who make this school system what it is. We are so fortunate to have people rise above difficult budgets and other circumstances to meet the needs of our children. I am not surprised but I am gratified to see the character demonstrated by our staff members.

Next week ushers in the “holiday season” for schools and it is my favorite time of the year. Enjoy the season and remember that every day is a gift.
